Lighter things such as linen and pillows should be placed in larger boxes than heavier items such as books. You will have plenty of room to pack, the box weight will be balanced, and you will have an easier time transporting it.
Fill any empty spaces in boxes with linen or sheets.
Packing each room in its own boxes and marking the boxes with the name of the room, such as "Bedroom 1", is helpful. We find this to be very helpful when unloading and unpacking.
Make sure your boxes are well taped. To strengthen and secure the box, tape all the way around its top and bottom edges, then close the bottom and top seams.
It is recommended to tape an X across the glass when you are moving pictures framed behind glass to make the glass stronger and to hold the picture together. After that, the pictures must be wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a box. A cardboard can also be placed between each framed piece to provide additional protection.
Placing a piece of packing paper around each item, then wrapping it up, is the best way to pack your crockery (plates, bowls, etc). Use extra paper to further pad out the box after packing plates and dishes on their sides instead of on top.
